Chantilly Home Learning CenterOur primary focus is to minister to the home schooling families attending Chantilly Bible Church. There are approximately 30 home schooling families involved in our church. We strive to reinforce the efforts of our individual home schools. In the past, we were able to provide a Co-op for our children from Nursery to 6th grade. Our numbers have dwindled. If you are interested in a Co-op, contact Beth Szczur. For our 7th & 8th graders, we provide Core classes in Science and Composition/Literature. These classes start in September and finish in May. For both Co-op and Core classes, we meet on Thursdays from 1:00 - 3:30pm. ![]() Chantilly Bible also has a drama group, the Perennial Players, which is sponsored by the home schooling group. They meet on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:45 pm. This allows the children to have a break for dinner before starting Pioneer Girls and Boys Brigade at 6:30 pm. The Junior High Youth Group will now be meeting on Sunday evenings. Because home schooling is difficult, and Moms need encouragement, we try to meet once a month for a Moms Night Out. This is usually in one of our homes for a time of prayer and praise. If you are interested in hosting or organizing an evening, please contact Laura Bowers. Also available to all home schooling families, are our trips to the Kennedy Center. We meet in early September to decide what shows we will be attending for the year. Annually, we have a Christmas Party and Valentines Party. In the fall, we sponsor the Pumpkin Carving Contest at the Western Roundup. We are always open to any field trip ideas or service project ideas you may have; let us know what you would like to do. Lastly, we have set up a time for testing our children; it will be May 17-19, 2010. If you have any questions about our ministry, please contact Laura Bowers and she will be happy to assist you. |
