Woman-to-Woman Mentoring

Our Purpose

The mission of the Woman-to-Woman Mentoring Ministry of Chantilly Bible Church is to give the women of Chantilly Bible Church the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Christ and be encouraged through one-on-one relationships in accordance with Titus 2:3-5 and Romans 1:11-12.  Our goal is to teach what we've been taught to train the next generation and to encourage one another to love and good deeds.

What is Mentoring?

Teaching what we've been taught to train the next generation.
-Janet Thompson

Someone who shares God-given wisdom with someone else on a regular basis with the aim of encouraging that person in bite sized bits to live a life that is pleasing to God.
-Edna Ellison and Tricia Scribner in Woman-to-Woman Preparing to Mentor

When a women, possessing faith and spiritual maturity, enters into a nurturing relationship with a younger woman in order to encourage and equip her to live for God's glory.
-Susan Hunt in Spiritual Mothering

What is a Mentee?

Someone who needs encouragement for the place God has them right now.

Whether it's called a Titus 2 Ministry or a Women's Mentoring Ministry, the goal of the ministry is to fulfill the command given to us in Titus 2:3-5.

So What's the Next Step?

Profile Card- regardless of whether you will be a mentor or a mentee you will need to fill out this card.  Mentors will  be in a pool and asked about availability when someone steps forward to be mentored.  Mentees will be contacted by a ministry team member to talk about their application.

Relationship begins- after prayer by the ministry team the mentee will be placed with a mentor.  A member of the ministry team will meet with you to help set expectations and boundaries for the relationship.  Your relationship will last 3 months, with weekly or bi-weekly meetings.

Prayer Warrior- you will have a prayer warrior who will be praying daily for your relationship and for each of you individually.  This commitment is for the 3 months also.

Relationship review- at the end of the 3 months you will meet again with your ministry team member to review your time together.

Encouragement

This is a relationship of encouragement, a relationship where you will be able to trust each other, where confidences will be kept, where you will pray for each other daily, where you will have a prayer warrior standing with you daily in prayer for you and your relationship.

Paul tells us in Romans 1:11 and 12, "I long to visit you so I can share a spiritual blessing with you that will help you grow strong in your faith.  I am eager to encourage you by my faith but I also want to be encouraged by yours.  In this way we will each be a blessing to the other."  The relationships we have had in this ministry have been ones in which each person, mentor, mentee and prayer warrior, have been blessed.  Encouragement for everyone!
