CBC began serving the Spanish-speaking community in April, 2005.
An Easter week showing of "The Passion of the Christ" with Spanish subtitles was the kick-off. The last three years we've shown the "Jesus" film in Spanish, then the trilingual film "The End of the Spear", and most recently "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in Spanish with English subtitles.
A great quantity of good used clothing is given away at "Clothes to You" each spring. It benefits the Hispanic community. "Ropa Gratis" drew over 60 Hispanics this April.
Memorial Day picnics include "carne asada", soccer, and children's games. Each year someone in uniform explains the nature of this holiday. Labor Day picnics are an annual tradition.
Free Spanish Bibles are offered at each of these public gatherings. Bilingual Bibles and New Testaments with the Nueva Versión Internacional (NVI) and the New International Version (NIV) are also available.
The five hour, two day money management seminar "Como Manejar Su Dinero con Éxito" was presented as a service to the community both in September '06 and repeated in October '07. It has proved helpful.
Monday night Conversational English began in June '07 with a core of college students home for the summer. Adult volunteers taught a fall term and are holding classes again this winter.The program is open to all nationalities and has served scores of Hispanics.
After years of Spanish interpretation of the Sunday morning English sermon, Sunday services are now held in Spanish at 6:00 PM in rooms 2 &3.
Spanish interpretation is available with an advance request for the Sunday 9:45 AM service.

¡SERVICIOS EN ESPAÑOL! Reuniones semanales han comenzado, el día domingo, a las 6:00 PM en las aulas 2 y 3.
Traducción oral simultanea en español del servicio domingo a las 9:45 a.m. con el uso de audífonos personales está disponible si se solicita personalmente con aviso previo.
PICNIC EL DIA MEMORIAL-- 12:00 a 3:00 PM, lunes, 26 de mayo. Habrá comida, fútfol, juegos infantiles y un programa sobre la naturaleza de esta fiesta nacional en español para la comunidad hispana. Gratis.
Voluntarios de la iglesia enseñarán otro ciclo de inglés conversacional cada lunes 7:30 a 8:45 PM desde el 12 de mayo hasta el 14 de julio. Hay tres niveles: básico, intermedio y conversación.
