CBC began serving the Spanish-speaking community in April, 2005.
An Easter week showing of "The Passion of the Christ" with Spanish subtitles was the kick-off. Easter weekend films in Spanish have become an annual event. We've shown the "Jesus" film in Spanish, the trilingual film "The End of the Spear", and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in Spanish with English subtitles.
A great quantity of good used clothing is given away at "Clothes to You" each spring. It benefits the Hispanic community. "Ropa Gratis" drew over 60 Hispanics last year.
Memorial Day picnics include "carne asada", soccer, and children's games. Each year someone in uniform explains the nature of this holiday. Labor Day picnics are an annual tradition.
Free Spanish Bibles are offered at each of these public gatherings. Bilingual Bibles and New Testaments with the Nueva Versión Internacional (NVI) and the New International Version (NIV) are also available.
The five hour, two day money management seminar "Como Manejar Su Dinero con Éxito" has been repeatedly presented as a service to the community in the fall. It has proved helpful.
Monday night Conversational English began in June '07 with a core of college students home for the summer. Adult volunteers offer ten week four-level courses every winter, spring, and fall. The program is free and open to all nationalities. It serves many Hispanics.
After years of Spanish interpretation of the Sunday morning English sermon, there is now a Hispanic Bible Fellowship at 6:00 PM in rooms 2 & 3.
Spanish interpretation is still available at the Sunday 9:45 AM service with individual headsets.

Calendario de Actividades
Inglés Conversacional: hay clases todo los días lunes de 7:30 a 8:45pm hasta el 29 de marzo, 2010. Se inscribe en el acto el dia que llegue. Es gratis aunque se recomienda la compra del libro. Hay cuatro niveles: básico 1 y 2, intermedio, y avanzado. Después de instrucción cada alumno practica oralmente en un grupo reducido bajo la direccion de un maestro.
Además hay una clase en preparación para el examen de ciudadanía. Voluntarios bien preparados de la iglesia forman el equipo de maestros.
Se ofrece interpretación en español del servicio domingo a las 9:45am con el uso de audífonos personales. Se encuentran en la mesa al fondo del auditorio a la mano derecha.
Después del servicio se imparte la clase Padres y Profetas a las 11:15am en la sala 12. Hay actividades para niños y también guardería durante toda la mañana.
