Going Deeper?

Chantilly Bible Church's mission is "to make disciples of Christ, who are winning, growing, and serving." That means helping followers of Jesus become people who are:
  • Winning others to Christ
  • Growing in their faith
  • Serving others, in response to God’s leading.
The most important resource we have to accomplish this mission is the Bible.

The Bible is spiritual food.

Jesus answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"
(Matthew 4:4)

As with physical food, one must maintain a steady diet of food to grow, become strong, and sustain good health. So it is with the Bible. For a believer to grow spiritually, be spiritually strong, and maintain good spiritual health, he or she must have a steady diet of the Word of God in their daily lives. (1 Peter 2:2)

God intends us to understand the Bible.

"But we do not want you  to be uninformed, brethren..." (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

God has taken the initiative to reveal Himself to us (Deuteronomy 29:29; 2 Peter 1:20-21). The written text of Scripture is His primary means for us to know Him. Therefore, on Sunday mornings and throughout our ministries, the teaching of the Word of God takes a high priority.

So that we might grow spiritually.

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18)

CBC's leadership works hard to provide an environment in which all our members can grow to spiritual maturity and fulfill God’s plan for their lives. Here are some of the opportunities to "go deeper" at CBC:

Sunday School Classes

"If you abide in My Word, then you are truly disciples of Mine." (John 8:31)

Please become part of our two-hour culture. We encourage each person to attend for two hours on Sunday mornings: one hour for the worship service, and one hour for participating in Bible training, as a student, a teacher, or a teacher's helper.

We offer classes to meet you wherever you are in your walk with Christ.

New Believer’s Class. This class will help confirm what your salvation decision is all about. You will be introduced to the basics of the Christian Life. We think of it as "what every believer should know." We schedule this class as needed.

Our other classes cover "what every member should know." They include:

The Pastors' Class (eight consecutive Sundays).  For every member or potential member, this class is the starting point for all future training at CBC. You'll meet the pastoral staff and get the big picture of what we believe and how we operate as a church. The next class begins October 2.

We hope you'll move from the Pastors' Class to our...

Quarterly Discipleship Classes (13 weeks each)

1st: The Fundamentals of our Faith
2nd: Pressing on to Maturity
3rd: Preparing to Serve the Lord
4th: Sharing Our Faith

Although taking these in order is ideal, it is not required.

Throughout the year, we also offer:

Topic and Book Studies (13 weeks each). Some of these classes will work through a single book of the Bible. Others will cover practical topics such as strengthening your marriage and developing spiritual disciplines.

You can find this quarter's adult Sunday School classes here.

For the Women

Our Thursday morning Bible studies are for women who are interested in growing deeper in their understanding of God’s Word. We provide a balance of inductive Bible Study, video studies, topics specifically for women, and prayer. For more information about Women's Bible Studies, look here

For the Men

Men’s Fraternity. This three year series, developed by Robert Lewis, examines authentic manhood, winning at work and home, and the great adventure of life with Christ. Men meet on Tuesday evenings in the fall and spring. For more information about Men's Fraternity, go to mensfraternity.com. To find out which part of the series is offered this year at CBC, look here.

EDO - Equipped to Disciple Others. This is an intensive two year course of study designed to train faithful men in fulfillment of 2 Tim 2:2. Men meet every other Sunday evening, September through April. Commitment is expected and is demonstrated by consistent attendance and follow-up study through the week. We offer both the first and second years of EDO every year. To find out more, look here

Home Shepherding Groups

Home Shepherding Groups have a distinct role in our growth, both individually and as a church. In most of our Bible training opportunities, we attempt to dig deep into the Scriptures to better understand God’s Word. In our home groups, the emphasis is on working those Scriptural principles into our daily lives. The small home group provides a “safe” comfortable environment where we can assist each other in doing that. The practical application of the “one anothers” of Scritpure (e.g., "love one another," "bear one another's burdens") can be experienced among the members of the small group. Feel free to try out any of our Home Shepherding Groups. They're listed here.
